Voice Over IP (VoIP) Phone Transition Scheduled for MacNider and Old Clinic
VoIP phones are being installed in MacNider and Old Clinic but will not be active until September. Please make sure your VoIP phone remains plugged in to the wall. There is the potential for a short service outage as early as the night prior to and the entire day of the transition.

"Spear Phishing" attack targets School of Medicine
Recently, members of the UNC School of Medicine community have been targeted in an email scam known as “spear phishing.” This form of phishing is especially dangerous because messages are tailored to the recipient and appear to be from a trusted source. UNC-1 Wireless Access to be removed from SOM buildings
The UNC-1 Wireless SSID will be removed from School of Medicine buildings in phases over the next 6 weeks leading up to October 18, as noted in the schedule below. To avoid losing wireless connectivity, users should install the UNC-Secure configuration as soon as possible.

UNC meets requirements for 2012 Medicare Improvements for Patients and Providers Act (MIPPA) Electronic Prescribing Program!
For the past few years, UNC P&A has focused on increasing the use of electronic prescribing (e-prescribing). Clinicians are adopting or switching to e-prescription as the preferred method of prescribing in record numbers. As a result, UNC P&A will avoid penalties and earn an incentive.
