New Professional Business Attire Policy, Effective April 1
On April 1, UNC Medical Center will implement a new Professional Business Attire policy. The policy is designed to create standards for professional appearance in order to foster a positive working environment, promote workplace safety, and inspire confidence in quality care service delivery. This policy applies to all personnel performing services for/at UNC Medical Center, including volunteers, research personnel, students, staff, and providers at all levels.

​The UNC Medical Center’s dual employment policy will retire on Dec. 31 2019. Effective Oct. 1, no new Dual Employment relationships will be approved. This will allow departments that are currently engaged in a Dual Employment arrangement with other state employees to reassess the need, and if still needed, they will have to determine how to hire them directly.

UNC Hospitals’ visitor restrictions remain in place
This is a reminder that children aged 12 years or under are not allowed to visit the inpatient units and waiting rooms of UNC Hospitals. UNC Hospitals is still seeing a great deal of patients with serious viral illnesses.

Updates for the UNC Health Care HIPAA Program: New HIPAA Privacy Policies, New Intranet Website and Updated Resources
The UNC Health Care System Privacy Policies have recently been revised. Employees can access the new HIPAA policies directly on the UNC Health Care Privacy Office website. The policies are arranged by descriptive content subheadings to help employees more easily find the policies they are seeking.
