Video: Obese 3-year-olds show early warning signs for future heart disease
A study by University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill researchers found that obese children as young as 3 years old have elevated levels of C-reactive protein, a marker of inflammation that in adults is considered an early warning sign for possible future heart disease.

These days, Terrence "Terry" Holt, MD, teaches families how to care for ailing parents at UNC. He recently published a collection of short stories called, "In the Valley of the Kings." He's being compared to the great writers, including Poe and Hawthorne. Dr. Holt sat down with the News Office to give insight on the crossover from literary professor to clinical professor.
