Visitor Restrictions begin Nov. 19 for the Newborn Critical Care Center, Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, 5 Children’s/Intermediate Care, Bone Marrow Transplant Unit and their waiting areas at UNC Hospitals
Due to an increase in the number of respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) cases in the community, children 11 years of age and younger are prohibited from visiting the Newborn Critical Care Center, Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, 5 Children’s/Intermediate Care, Bone Marrow Transplant Unit and their waiting areas at UNC Hospitals effective November 19 to help ensure the safety of our patients. Children 11 years of age and younger who are in good health may currently visit other areas of UNC Hospitals.

UNC Urgent Care at The Family Medicine Center is excited to announce that patients now have the ability to view wait times and reserve a spot online. The new urgent care clinic launched on Monday, Feb. 5, and offers comprehensive and convenient urgent care on UNC Chapel Hill's campus.

Wake OASIS changes name to UNC Wake Encompass
Wake OASIS becomes UNC Wake Encompass effective June 1. A specialty clinic for adolescents and young adults, Wake Encompass will remain at the same address 3010 Falstaff Rd. in Raleigh and is housed with the Center’s ACT (Assertive Community Treatment) Team, the Wake STEP Clinic, and the North Carolina Psychiatric Research Center (NCPRC).

Wayfinding App Coming in 2019 for UNC Medical Center, UNC REX; Robot Mapping to Begin March 11
Later this year, a customized, mobile wayfinding app will be available to help patients, visitors and staff find their way from one end of the hospital to the other at UNC Medical Center and UNC REX Healthcare. We are partnering with a company named Gozio Health to launch this app. To have the most accurate information possible, starting March 11, Gozio Health’s staff will do a walkthrough of the hospitals.

Weight Loss Class Offered at UNC Wellness Center at Meadowmont
The Weigh To Wellness is an eight week weight loss class that includes nutrition education and exercise. Classes meet every Thursday from 6 - 8 p.m. beginning on Sept. 7. Orientation is on Thursday, August 31 at 6 p.m. UNC Employee discount available.
