Bashford to lead new Office of Rural Initiatives
Robert Bashford, MD, will assume the role of Associate Dean for Rural Initiatives, leading the UNC School of Medicine’s newly created Office of Rural Initiatives. In this position, he will expand his work to recruit and train the next generation of primary care physicians passionate about serving in rural North Carolina. In addition, he will build multidisciplinary, interprofessional groups to serve in rural underserved settings.

Behavioral Health Course in MD Curriculum Seeks Basic Science Co-director
The Foundation Phase of the School of Medicine's MD curriculum seeks a basic science co-director for its behavioral health course "Human Behavior in Health and Disease" for fall 2019. This second-year medical course runs from approximately August 1 to August 15 and includes the following topics: normal and abnormal development, autism, learning theory and therapies, personality disorders, genetics, psychopharmacology, intimate partner violence, psychotic disorders, mood disorders, anxiety disorders, somatoform disorders, eating disorders, alcohol and substance abuse, and other related topics.
