UNC’s Antimicrobial Stewardship Program is focused on improving patient outcomes by promoting the appropriate use of antimicrobials, including the choice of drug, dosing regimen, monitoring and duration. The team is multidisciplinary with team members from the Department of Pharmacy and the Divisions of Adult and Pediatric Infectious Diseases at UNC Hospitals.

Effective Monday, Jan. 14: Visitor Restrictions across UNC Hospitals for Children Under 12
Due to recent increases in the number of cases of respiratory illness and to ensure the safety of our patients, children ages 11 years old and younger are prohibited from visiting inpatients and inpatient waiting rooms at UNC Hospitals (including the Chapel Hill, Hillsborough and Wakebrook campuses, but excluding inpatient Hospice) and are prohibited from perioperative waiting rooms at UNC Hospitals Medical Center (Chapel Hill) and Hillsborough Hospital beginning Monday, Jan. 14, 2019.
