The event in the Children’s Lobby this week featured games, educational materials, simulations and recognition for the countless individuals that have made UNC Medical Center’s efforts to stop sepsis such a success.

Christmas Eve and Christmas Day services at UNC Hospitals will be televised
The Christmas Eve service will be televised at 7 p.m. and the Christmas Day service will be televised at 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. These services can only be viewed on channel 209 and any non-Samsung TV on channel 1031.

Fire Alarm Testing at UNC Medical Center to begin Sept. 25
Annual testing of the fire alarm initiation, notification and control devices will occur throughout the UNC Medical Center, from Sept. 25 until Dec. 22. Most testing will occur between the hours of 7:30 a.m. – 6 p.m., Monday-Friday, but limited testing will occur during the evenings and on weekends

Workers instructed to use containment booths in construction areas of high-risk patients
Construction, renovation and improvement projects are in full-swing at UNC Hospitals. Removing ceiling tiles in patient care areas increases the risk of infection with fungal spores by immunocompromised patients. Hospital Epidemiology has identified areas with patients who are at highest risk. In these areas, workers will be instructed to use containment booths.

UNC Affiliates Parking Permit - Dogwood Deck & ACC Lot
UNC Affiliate Parking Permits are now available via email for employees visiting UNC Hospitals and the ACC for medical appointments and as visitors. These permits should requested only when an employee is at UNC Hospitals or the ACC as a patient (or when visiting a patient).
