​Due to an increase in the number of respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) cases in the community, children 11 years of age and younger are prohibited from visiting the Newborn Critical Care Center, Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, 5 Children’s/Intermediate Care, Bone Marrow Transplant Unit and their waiting areas at UNC Hospitals effective November 4 to help ensure the safety of our patients.

The Advanced Life Support Programs unit at the Timberlyne facility will be closed for renovation April 1 - 9. All classes during the renovation to off-site locations. Location information is clearly noted in LMS for all off-site classes during the renovation. ALS administrative offices will continue to be open to assist you.

​Our Muslim colleagues, patients, and friends are observing Ramadan April 23 – May 23. This is a month of fasting, prayer, reflection and community. Ramadan teaches self-discipline, self-control, sacrifice, and empathy for those who are less fortunate, encouraging generosity and charity. During the COVID-19 pandemic, all chapels remain open at the Main and Hillsborough Campuses. Please practice social distancing and bring your own prayer rug for Ramadan observances.

UPDATED: Neurosciences Main Corridor Closure
Beginning Oct. 7, 2019, the corridor from the front of Neurosciences to the rear loading dock will close for approximately 10 weeks due to construction of the new Emergency Transition Dept. on the ground floor. There will be no access beyond the main visitor elevators on the ground floor.
