Joint Commission follow-up
Joint Commission surveyors completed our triennial full survey of UNC Hospitals, Home Health/Hospice, Outpatient Care Services, and behavioral health services on Friday, Dec. 13. We were surveyed against 275 standards and 1,683 elements of performance by 11 surveyors over five days, and they were very impressed with the knowledge and dedication of our staff.

Please join the Women's Leadership Collaborative for a Dialogue on Leadership, an intimate exchange with some of our most dynamic and visionary leaders in the School of Medicine Drs. Julie Byerley, Joanne Jordan, Kenya McNeal-Trice, and Cristy Page. This course aims to educate developing and aspiring leaders, both clinical and non-clinical, about leadership principals and dynamics specific to career planning, advancement, and execution as well as being a successful leader at the UNC Medical Center. Providers: New General Medicine Teaching Service Open at Hillsborough Hospital
The Bondurant-Ehringhaus Service for Teaching (BEST) started accepting patients on Sunday, June 24 at UNC Hospitals Hillsborough Campus. This new adult, general medicine teaching service with a cardiopulmonary emphasis, led by the Department of Medicine Chief Residents, will enhance the ability of the Hillsborough hospital to accept a greater number of high-acuity admissions and transfers, especially from the UNC Medical Center in Chapel Hill. Exceptional clinical educators from the Department of Medicine were selected to rotate as attendings on the BEST Team.

Annual Required Survey for Joint Commission Compliance
As part of our Joint Commission compliance program we have started the Joint Commission required annual hospital performed Life Safety Survey and have hired a local firm, The Fire Consultants, Inc., to perform the survey.

Help Stuff the Bus
The 2018 Stuff the Bus campaign kicks off next Monday, July 16. This annual campaign collects school supplies for children in need in Orange, Wake and now Johnston County schools.
