Starting Sunday, July 21, the Columbia Suicide Severity Rating Screen (C-SSRS) tool is being added to the required documentation for admission at all hospitals using Epic@UNC. The C-SSRS will replace the existing suicide screening.

To help provide more coordinated care for our patients (and patients at other hospitals using Epic), the Care Everywhere ID (CEID) now displays on the inpatient Face Sheet. Once the Face Sheet is opened, the CEID is listed under the “Admission” section. If a patient has opted-out of Care Everywhere, a message indicating this will be displayed.

Inpatient staff: 2017 Flu "Best Practice Advisory" now effective
Beginning Wednesday, Sept. 19, inpatient caregivers began seeing a "Best Practice Advisory" (BPA) in Epic@UNC to ensure that we screen all appropriate patients who should receive a flu vaccine.

Due to the winter weather event, the planned Jan. 8 Epic@UNC downtime was rescheduled for Sunday, Jan. 22, from 3 - 4:30 a.m. Epic@UNC will be down for 90 minutes the morning of Jan. 22 while ISD applies an update.

Beginning Wednesday, Nov. 2, Surgical Services nurses will notice that ‘ERAS – Enhanced Recovery After Surgery’ has been added as a teaching point in the Perioperative Period (Adult) education title. Starting Tuesday, Nov. 8, the Perioperative Period education title will automatically be added to the chart for surgical patients.
