Lost & Found to launch new initiative with Patient Transportation
Soon you will begin seeing blue bags hanging from some of the patient transport gurneys. These bags will store patient property while we transport patients to procedures and during room transfers. The effort will help reduce patient property lost during transports.

TEACCH Autism Program receives $120,000 grant from Autism Speaks

UNC Hospitals Achieves New Status as Accredited Chest Pain Center
Hospitals that have received Society of Cardiovascular Patient Care (SCPC) accreditation have achieved a higher level of expertise in dealing with patients who arrive with symptoms of a heart attack, emphasizing the importance of treatment programs that provide more efficient and effective evaluation as well as rapid treatment of patients with chest pain and other heart attack symptoms.

Random Acts of Kindness video honoring World Kindness Day
After learning about patient safety culture, Paige Roberts, RN, CN IV, on 3 Anderson implemented Random Acts of Kindness as a way to share goodwill with patients and staff. As part of World Kindness Day in November, Paige and the staff on 3 Anderson made a video to share the kindness that's been spreading around UNC Hospitals!

New image viewer in Epic@UNC for UNC Medical Center images
At 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 1, 2017, the Epic@UNC image hyperlinks at UNC Medical Center will transition from Impax to UNC Health Care's new viewer, called NIL. The NIL viewer offers the same Epic@UNC-based image accessibility and tool sets as Impax.
