As men and women age into their 60s, 70s, and 80s, their bodies gradually lose bone. This decrease in bone density puts both at risk for wrist, spine and hip fractures. While there are current bone density screening guidelines for women, guidelines do not exist for men. UNC School of Medicine bone researchers are working to change that.
