The Center for Global Initiatives is pleased to announce our call for entries to the 11th Annual Global Photography Contest. This is an amateur photography competition that is open to all students, faculty, alumni and staff of UNC-Chapel Hill. The submission deadline is Sept. 10, 2010.

UNC home football affects parking, transportation
A reminder that certain parking lots are reserved for seven UNC home football games. UNC’s next home game is noon Sept. 19 against ECU in Kenan Stadium.

UNC spring football game April 10 at 3 p.m.
The UNC spring football game is scheduled for 3 p.m. April 10 in Kenan Stadium. Traffic delays on campus are expected April 10 between noon – 3:30 p.m. and from 5 – 6:30 p.m.

UNC’s Carey to deliver December commencement address
Dr. Lisa Carey, associate professor of medicine and UNC Breast Center medical director, will deliver the December commencement address at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Chancellor Holden Thorp has announced.

Call for Nominations: 2010 Oliver Max Gardner Award
Chancellor Thorp invites nominations for the 2010 Oliver Max Gardner Award, presented each year by the UNC System Board of Governors to that member of the faculty of a constituent UNC institution "who, during the current scholastic year, has made the greatest contribution to the welfare of the human race." Nominations are due by Dec. 9, 2009.

University changes to affect Transportation and Parking July 14 - 20
The University is preparing to launch ConnectCarolina, a new administrative system. The first phase of this implementation will take place on July 14, 2009. As a result, UNC Health Care’s Transportation and Parking Office will be unable to create new PIDs or Gate Access Cards from July 14 - 17.

Flyover scheduled for Nov. 14 home football finale
UNC's home football finale is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 14. Traffic will be heavy by noon on Saturday. Also, an F-18 flyover is planned just prior to the 3:30 kickoff. There will be four jets involved, and practice runs will be made on Friday, Nov. 13 between 2 - 3 p.m.
