Vote to elect faculty representatives to the School of Medicine’s Post-Tenure Review Committee
Earlier this summer, faculty endorsed proposed amendments to the UNC School of Medicine Constitution and Bylaws by majority vote. One such change is the addition of two elected faculty representatives to the School of Medicine’s Post-Tenure Review Committee. Full professors with tenure who have successfully completed a Post-Tenure Review within the past two years are eligible to stand for election. Please be on the lookout for your email invitation to vote in this year’s Post-Tenure Review Committee Faculty Representative Election.

UNC School of Medicine elects new Standing Committee Members
Each year, the UNC School of Medicine Standing Committees Election offers faculty an opportunity to participate in medical school governance by serving on a committee as a faculty representative or simply voting in the election. This year’s election selected new faculty representatives for the three committees that review appointments and promotions.

Five-year Review of David R. Rubinow, MD, Chair of Psychiatry
An ad hoc committee has been appointed to undertake a routine review of the leadership provided by David R. Rubinow, MD, in his position as Chair of the Department of Psychiatry. The review is a standard procedure of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. The committee invites your written or verbal comments, suggestions and relevant information. The review will take place on June 2, 2017.

Pinnacle Hill extends deadline for pre-proposal applications
Pinnacle Hill, the company created through UNC-Chapel Hill’s new partnership with Deerfield Management, offers an opportunity to pursue funding to advance novel drug therapy projects. All UNC investigators are encouraged to submit therapeutic pre-proposals to Pinnacle Hill for potential funding, which may support studies to reach the IND-ready stage. The pre-proposal deadline has been extended to Feb. 10, 2019.
