Myron Cohen five-year review
An ad hoc committee has been appointed to undertake a routine administrative review of the leadership provided by Dr. Myron Cohen, MD, in his position as Director of the Institute for Global Health & Infectious Diseases. The five-year review is a standard procedure of the School of Medicine at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. The review will take place over the next four to five weeks.

The Norma Berryhill Distinguished Lecture is our annual convocation. It is a time when we reflect upon our School’s splendid heritage of collegiality and excellence, to which Norma Berryhill contributed so much. It is also the occasion on which we formally welcome our newest faculty members. Please read for instructions for nominating a member of the School of Medicine faculty. The nomination deadline is April 28.

Gary Johnson five-year review
An ad hoc committee has been appointed to undertake a routine administrative review of the leadership provided by Gary Johnson, PhD, in his position as Chair of the Department of Pharmacology. The review will take place over the next four to five weeks. The committee invites your written or verbal comments, suggestions, and relevant information. If you wish to submit a letter, please do so prior to April 2, 2014.

Bruce Cairns, Professor of Surgery, has worn many hats: Navy doctor, disaster planner and responder, burn surgeon, director of the N.C. Jaycee Burn Center, School of Medicine representative in UNC faculty governance, to name a few. This year he’s running for UNC Faculty Chair.
