Inpatient Nurses: New options in ‘Service’ field in Notes activity
The following options have been added as options in the ‘Service’ designation in the notes activity: Diabetes Education, Dialysis, Vascular Access Team, and Wound Ostomy and Continence Nurse.

On Wednesday, Sept. 7, a new row option will be added to the Post Fall Assessment for the Inpatient Rehab Units to document “intercepted fall” as required by CMS. While all hospitals will see this new option, it should only be used on the Inpatient Rehab Units at UNC Medical Center and High Point Regional Hospital.

A team from Epic will be at Eastowne, UNC REX, and High Point Regional on Wednesday, Sept. 14, to conduct usability testing. Physicians and nurses with 3+ months experience using Epic@UNC have the opportunity to try out in-progress development and give feedback to help shape future development.

Due to a software upgrade, vital signs will not flow into Epic@UNC from 2 – 4:30 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 2. This upgrade is being coordinated with the planned Oct. 2 Epic@UNC downtime (scheduled from 3 – 4:30 a.m. Oct. 2), so most users will only notice that vital signs will not flow between 2 a.m. and the start of the planned Epic@UNC downtime at 3 a.m.
