ITS and OIS will be performing maintenance on the core of the School of Medicine Network on Wednesday, Sept. 14 beginning at 6 a.m. The work will require a reboot of the central router which will cause a network outage of 15 minutes.

Voice Over IP (VoIP) Phone Transition Scheduled for Monday, December 9
VoIP phones that have been installed in School of Medicine buildings will become active on Monday, Dec. 9. Please make sure your VoIP phone remains plugged in to the wall. There is the potential for a short service outage as early as the night prior to and the entire day of the transition.

UNC-1 Wireless Access to be removed from select SOM buildings September 9
The UNC-1 Wireless SSID will be removed from the following School of Medicine buildings on Monday, Sept. 9: Bioinformatics, MacNider, Burnett-Womack and Thurston Bowles. To avoid losing wireless connectivity, users should install the UNC-Secure configuration as soon as possible.

UNC Health Care signs strategic collaboration agreement with Siemens Healthcare
UNC Health Care and Siemens Healthcare have signed a five-year joint design and development agreement. The agreement allows our medical informatics experts and physicians to work with Siemens to improve our internal IT infrastructure and assist in the creation of new commercial solutions. Our initial work together will be geared toward the augmentation of WebCIS.
