Caregivers at Carolina RFA now available
Caregivers at Carolina is a program for physician scientists facing extraprofessional caregiving demands. Funding of up to $40,000 per year is available for one to two years to provide direct research support or buy out of clinical time for physician scientists facing substantial caregiving demands at home. Application deadline is March 22, 2019.

Dr. Gail Henderson will step down as chair of the Department of Social Medicine on June 30. The School of Medicine is initiating an internal search to identify a chair for the Department of Social Medicine, an academic unit within the School of Medicine committed to the promotion and provision of multidisciplinary education, leadership, service, research, and scholarship at the intersection of medicine and society. Applications and nominations are due by 5 p.m., Jan. 27.

An ad hoc committee has been appointed to undertake a routine review of the leadership provided by Weili Lin, PhD, in his position as Director of the Biomedical Research Imaging Center (BRIC). The review is a standard procedure of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. The committee invites your written or verbal comments, suggestions and relevant information. The review will take place on October 18, 2017.

We will be offering a free drop-in photography session for UNC School of Medicine faculty members and UNC Health Care advanced practice providers (AuDs, CRNAs, CNMs, CNSs, CPPs, LCSWs, NPs, OTs, PTs, PAs and SLPs) only in October. Non-faculty advanced practice providers must provide direct, clinical patient care in the outpatient setting in order to be photographed.
