Epic@UNC hardware inventory begins April 15
One requirement for the Epic@UNC implementation is that we inventory all medical devices, monitors, printers, and workstations throughout our facilities so that we can prepare for integrating those devices with the Epic@UNC system. The Epic@UNC Technical Team has commissioned several Information Technology Support employees from Rex, Chatham, UNC Physicians Network, UNC Hospitals, and UNC Faculty Physicians, as well as contractors, to do the inventory beginning April 15.

Login ID, email formatting standards change for NEW UNC Health Care co-workers beginning June 17
Beginning June 17, 2013, new colleagues joining UNC Health Care will use both a new login ID format called the “uID” and a new email address formatting standard - "firstname.lastname@domain." These changes will not affect the login IDs or email addresses of current users.

Tracy Parham, RN, has accepted the permanent position of Chief Information Officer (CIO) for UNC Health Care. Tracy has served as interim CIO since November 2012 and her move to the permanent CIO position is effective immediately.

Sunshine Act/Open Payments Update: Annual Review and Dispute Period Underway
CMS has opened the 45-day review and dispute period for 2015 data on the Open Payments (Sunshine Act) system. Between April 1 and May 15, physicians can review reported information before it is made available to the public. If any of the reported payments appear to be inaccurate, physicians may resolve the dispute directly with the manufacturer until May 15.
