Adult Rapid Response calls will go silent on March 2, 2020
Starting Monday, March 2 at 7:00 am Adult Rapid Response calls at UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill will no longer be announced overhead. Hospital operators will be notifying Adult Rapid Response team members of emergent situations by both Vocera and pager.

Temporary Visitor Restrictions for Children <12 begin Monday, Jan. 6
As the number of observed flu cases increases, to ensure the safety of our patients, children <12 years of age will be prohibited from visiting inpatients and inpatient waiting rooms at UNC Hospitals (including the Chapel Hill, Hillsborough and Wakebrook campuses, but excluding inpatient Hospice) and are prohibited from perioperative waiting rooms at UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill and Hillsborough beginning Monday, Jan. 6, 2020.

Adult Rapid Response Calls Go Silent Jan. 6, 2020
​Starting Monday, Jan. 6 at 7 a.m., Adult Rapid Response code calls at UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill will no longer be announced overhead. Hospital operators will be notifying Adult Rapid Response team members of emergent situations by both Vocera and pager. This change in practice will result in a quieter environment and will decrease the anxiety that patients and families experience when hearing overhead emergency calls.

​From Tuesday, Dec. 17 through Thursday, Dec. 19, the concourse that runs between the Memorial Hospital lobby and the Children's Hospital lobby will be closed daily from 7 a.m. until 5 p.m. During this time, Skanska will be using a crane to lift building materials into the Butterfly Garden, and the concourse is being closed out of an abundance of caution.
