'Scan to Sovera' upgrade Jan. 18
There is an upgrade for 'Scan to Sovera,' the scanning application used in Epic@UNC, scheduled to begin at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 18. There will be no downtime associated with this upgrade.

'Values and Beliefs' section of RN Admission Navigator required beginning Aug. 5
Effective Aug. 5, 2015, the "Values and Beliefs" section of the RN Admission Navigator will become required documentation for admission. Documentation of the Cultural Requests and Spiritual Requests questions within this section must be completed within 24 hours of admission.

15-minute Sovera downtime June 4
The Sovera document imaging application will be down on Thursday, June 4, 2015, from 9:30 - 9:45 p.m. During this time, viewing scanned images in Epic@UNC or Sovera will be unavailable. “Scan to Sovera” and all scanning applications will be up. Documents scanned during the downtime will appear in Epic@UNC shortly after the system comes back up.

At a meeting on Tuesday, Feb. 12, at the Friday Center in Chapel Hill, clinical workflow teams, clinical content teams, and revenue cycle teams with representatives from across the UNC Health Care System made 63 more decisions about the design of the Epic@UNC system.

On Feb. 24, the option to select “Requested Bill” as a reason why a co-pay was not collected will be removed from Epic@UNC. Staff must select the most appropriate reason for this hard stop if a payment is not being collected. Staff should follow Point of Service collections best practices and utilize the three-part ask when collecting. We now have access to more than 500 Healthwise patient education videos. You can share these videos with your patients in two ways: (1) highlight the video from the list of Healthwise materials and print the page with a link and QR code the patient can use to watch the video; or (2) highlight the video from the list of Healthwise materials and attach the link and QR code for the video to the patient's After Visit Summary (AVS). 2014 Epic@UNC Upgrade follow-up
Epic@UNC was successfully upgraded on Saturday, March 7, to the 2014 version of Epic's software. Since the upgrade, users have reported a number of issues that ISD is working to resolve. Please continue to report any issues to the ISD Service Desk at 984-974-4357.

‘Chart Search’ now available in Epic@UNC
“Chart Search” is now available from the top-right corner of Epic@UNC as an alternative to looking through a patient's chart or browsing Epic@UNC menus. In Epic@UNC, press “CTRL + spacebar” to automatically move your cursor to the search box.
