SHP Dependent Eligibility Audit Deadline Has Passed
Employees enrolled in the State Health Plan (SHP) who have not yet submitted their documents or have had documents denied are encourage to upload documentation immediately. The SHP has informed the Benefits Office that they will not terminate dependent coverage Aug. 1, but that the SHP will reach out to affected members in an effort to collect their documents and advise members prior to the termination of dependent coverage.

Standardized changes to CV format for campus approved
Effective May 29, 2014, the policy on the CV for Promotion and Tenure Use at UNC-Chapel Hill has been changed. This policy change will allow faculty members to fully describe their involvement in engaged scholarship and will allow for the display of their innovative products of research and creative endeavor.

These free informational sessions help you navigate your State Health Plan benefits in retirement and understand how the State Health Plan and Medicare work together. The sessions are designed for State Health Plan members nearing 65 years old and those who are 65 years old and still actively working.

State Health Plan annual enrollment begins May 9
Annual enrollment for the State Health Plan (SHP) begins Monday, May 9. All employees with the SHP as their primary health coverage will be moved to the 70/30 Basic plan effective July 1. If you choose to remain on the Basic plan, no action is required unless you need to add or remove dependents. To qualify for the Standard (80/20) plan, you must complete an attestation form. State Health Plan legislative changes effective July 1
The State Health Plan wants to make employees aware of changes to the Plan following the ratification of House Bill 1085 on June 29. Most importantly, there was a change clarifying the rules under which employees can enroll in the Plan.
