Starting Monday, Feb. 4, Adult Code Blue calls at UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill will no longer be announced overhead. Hospital operators will be notifying Adult Code Blue team members of code situations by both Vocera and pager. This change in practice will result in a quieter environment and will decrease the anxiety that patients and families experience when hearing overhead emergency calls.

Advanced Cardiac Life Support books updated to 2015 AHA/ECC guidelines
The Advanced Life Support Programs unit has received the new 2015 AHA Guideline Advanced Cardiac Life Support student manuals. We will begin using these in ACLS classes in May of this year.

Advanced Life Support Programs adds BLS-Renewal Class to program offerings
The ALS Training Center is now offering the newly released American Heart Association Basic Life Support – Renewal class to our program offerings. As many BLS - Renewal classes have been added as the crowded schedule will permit and more will be added in the months to come.

The Advanced Life Support Programs unit at the Timberlyne facility will be closed for renovation April 1 - 9. All classes during the renovation to off-site locations. Location information is clearly noted in LMS for all off-site classes during the renovation. ALS administrative offices will continue to be open to assist you.
