Pay Day Change – Effective Jan. 7, 2020
​​With the New Year comes a new payday! Following the transition to NC Health on Dec 15, payroll will align the pay day to every other Tuesday for all of the owned entities. This change will take effect on the first pay day of 2020, Jan. 7.

With the new Attendance and Corrective Action system policies coming into effect on Dec. 15, HR wanted to inform you on how the policy will be implemented and explain a few scenarios. Review the information at the link in the headline. Please note: employees with four attendance occurrences (occurrence=one absence or two partial absences) as of Dec. 15 will not immediately move to the next step in the corrective action; instead, corrective action will progress to the next level when the employee incurs another occurrence after Dec. 15. All corrective actions are tracked successively and progressively together regardless of whether the corrective actions are for unsatisfactory performance, attendance or conduct.

A required LMS course has been assigned to ensure that all staff understand the impact of the new attendance and corrective action policies. The deadline to complete this course is Feb. 15, 2020.

UNC Medical Center will offer Paid Time Off (PTO) sell-back election periods quarterly to employees. To be eligible for the sell-back options, employees must have at least 88 hours of PTO available. Employees are eligible to automatically receive a sell-back based on their election of 25%, 50%, 75% or 100% of all hours over 80 with a minimum of eight hours required for distribution.
