On Monday, Nov. 4, a new message will be implemented to alert the provider that a Hemoglobin A1C test was ordered within 90 days of a previous Hemoglobin A1C order. This update will impact inpatient and outpatient orders. The provide can choose to continue with the order or remove the order at the time of the message. See a screenshot of the alert here.

Medicare MBI Format Warning – October 31
On Oct. 31, a new warning will be live in Epic@UNC alerting staff that they must update the MBI number for the patient’s Medicare coverage. It is critical that all coverage listed with the old format (SSN based) is updated as soon as possible.

UNC Health Care is pleased to announce the implementation of CareSelect Imaging clinical decision support (CDS) technology, which will go live in late 2019. CareSelect Imaging provides decision support when ordering advanced imaging exams (CT, MRI, and Nuclear Medicine/PET) directly within the provider's ordering workflow.
