CICU nurse manager Tracey Blevins, RN, BSN, MBA, HCM, CNML, has returned to her previous role as the Chest Pain Center Coordinator, and Cristie Dangerfield, RN, BSN, has assumed the interim nurse manager role in the CICU.

This change will enable Blevins to focus entirely on the care provided for patients with Acute Coronary Syndrome as well as ensure that outreach efforts and preparation for the next set of accreditation standards are robust. Many thanks to Tracey for her contributions to the CICU.  UNC Heart & Vascular looks forward to her continued success in the efforts toward awareness, prevention, and treatment of chest pain patients.

Dangerfield was selected as a 2012 School of Medicine Nursing Recognition Award winner for her demonstrated excellence in nursing practice and a commitment to teaching and education of health science students and health care professionals. She has been responsible for staff development, induced hypothermia teaching and research, and orientation for new hires, charge nurses, code nurses, etc.  She is also a VAD resource nurse and is valuable member of multiple committees.
