McLendon Clinical Laboratories will be hosting Bone Marrow Drives in the Children’s Hospital Lobby on both Wednesday, April 27 and Thursday, April 28 in honor of National Medical Laboratory Professionals Week.  Bone marrow transplants are a lifesaving measure for leukemia, lymphoma, and multiple myeloma patients.  They have also most recently been used to treat and possibly cure sickle cell disease. Adding more donors and cord blood units from diverse racial and ethnic backgrounds to the "Be The Match Registry" increases the likelihood that all patients will find the match they need. All you have to do to join the registry is fill out some paperwork and swab your cheek to be sent for testing. Adding a person to the registry requires over $100 in laboratory testing. Please visit our team page and consider donating so we can add more and more names to the registry.

Lunchtime with the Laboratory
Tuesday, April 26, noon, 12:30 p.m., 1 p.m.
Wednesday April 27, noon, 12:30 p.m., 1 p.m.
Mclendon Clinical Laboratories will be providing 30-minute information sessions during lunch in the Children’s Hospital Lobby to give a brief overview of what goes on in the laboratory and provide an opportunity to ask our Laboratory Ambassadors any questions you may have.
