Though there was a decline in overall charitable giving from last year’s report, North Carolinians made solid choices with their donations, giving to charities that made appropriate use of the gifts.
Marshall emphasized the necessity of doing research before donating money to an organization
“Support the groups that you decide deserve support,” said Marshall. “If you like what they are doing and they are doing it effectively!”
Marshall encouraged North Carolinians to give to charities within the state that agree with their ideals, and used the event to highlight the Me Fine Foundation as an organization “doing great things for North Carolina.”
The Me Fine Foundation is an organization dedicated to helping families and caregivers who have children being treated at UNC and Duke Children’s Hospitals by providing resources and financial assistance.
Lori Lee, president and founder of the Me Fine Foundation, also spoke at the event.
