UNC Family Medicine has honored former state Senator John T. Henley, Sr., with a new endowment named in his honor.

The presenter will be Raymond Barfield, MD, PhD, Associate Professor of Pediatrics and Christian Philosophy and Director of Pediatric Palliative Care, Duke University. His presentation is titled, "Why Ethical Decision Making in Complex Pediatric Illness Requires the Art of Storytelling."

Deadline extended for Nurse Manager of the Year award
The Nurse Manager of the Year award deadline has been extended until Friday, Dec. 30. This award will be given as part of the celebrations to take place during Nursing Staff Recognition Week, May 6 - 11, 2012. The Collaborative Colleague, Faculty of the Year, and Friend of Nursing Award deadlines remain Monday Jan. 9, 2012.
