Employee Health Fair Rescheduled
The health fair scheduled for Jan 11 has been rescheduled to Jan 20 in the Women’s Hospital Lobby from 1 - 6 p.m. Stop by for a check of your blood pressure, cholesterol, weight, BMI and more!


Free Smoking Cessation Program: Tobacco-Free Tar Heels
Do you want to quit smoking or other tobacco use in 2011? New Year’s Resolution? Long time goal? The time is now! UNC Health Care is committed to helping employees quit all tobacco use, the UNC Nicotine Dependence Program and the UNC Health Care Wellness Committee are offering Tobacco Free Tar Heels, a free tobacco use treatment program for employees starting in January 2011.

Participants will receive an initial assessment, treatment plan, eight weekly group visits, and three months of tobacco cessation medication at no cost. The first 35 employees to enroll and complete an initial assessment will be eligible for the January program. To enroll, please click on this link. Wellness Lunch & Learn: “Weight Loss - What We Know Works and What's New in Weight loss Research”

Let’s get started on that New Year’s resolution! We will discuss losing weight the healthy way, focusing on the habits of people who have lost weight and kept it off.  Eating strategies for keeping metabolism high and keeping appetites satisfied will be given.  We will also talk about mindless eating and other problem habits that put on the pounds! Box lunches will be served.
