Children's Promise T-shirts available for purchase at Holiday Bazaar
The 10th Anniversary N.C. Children's Promise Radio/Telethon t-shirts will be available for purchase at the Holiday Bazaar on Wednesday, Dec. 7, in the Children's Hospital lobby from 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. Thanks to everyone who made the 2011 Children's Promise a success - more than $1.1 million was raised to support the Children's Hospital!
Minsley, Spencer named directors of Hillsborough Medical Office Building
Mary-Ann Minsley, RN, MBA, has been named Administrative Director of the UNC Heath Care Hillsborough Medical Office Building. Don Spencer, MD, MBA, who is currently the Medical Director and Vice President of Ambulatory Care for the Health Care System, will serve in the role of Medical Director for the new practice.
ICD-10 transition kick-off
The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) have mandated that the health care industry update its diagnosis and procedure code standards to version ICD-10 by Oct. 1, 2013.

Temporary shut-down of two Anderson Pavilion elevators
Anderson Pavilion Elevators AP3 and AP4 will be temporarily shut down on the nights of Dec. 1 and 2 from 7 p.m. until 7 a.m.
Admission-Discharge Unit (formerly 4 ADU) relocated to Neurosciences Hospital
On Nov. 28, the Admission-Discharge Unit (formerly 4 ADU) was relocated to the ground floor of Neurosciences Hospital. At that time, it was also renamed the Admissions Unit, or AU – a change that reflects the elimination of its discharge lounge.
Updated policy: Medication Management - Prescribing, Dispensing, and Administration of Chemotherapy and Immunotherapy
The Pharmacy and Therapeutics (P&T) Committee approved the updated version of the Prescribing, Dispensing, and Administration of Chemotherapy and Immunotherapy policy following the October Oncology P&T Subcommittee meeting. This policy takes effect Wednesday, Nov. 30.
