A quarterly inspection and test of the fire alarm and sprinkler systems is taking place throughout the hospitals this week, Oct. 10 - 14. Inspection and testing is also happening at the Facility Support Building, Imaging Center and Carolina Dialysis.
Late Night with Roy 2011 will be held on Friday, Oct. 14 at the Dean E. Smith Center. The event will begin with a Women's volleyball game at 5 p.m. and the basketball portion of the program will follow it. Please be aware that traffic to and from the hospitals and the School of Medicine may be heavy that evening.
The next UNC home football game is Saturday, Oct. 15 at 12:30 p.m. Please plan appropriately as you travel to/from UNC Hospitals, as traffic will be heavy several hours before game time. Also, remember that certain parking lots are reserved for the seven UNC home football games.
Noted textile collage artist Elaine O'Neil has once again produced a limited edition calendar with twelve original scenes that highlight the beauty and character of North Carolina. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the N.C. Cancer Hospital.

The next American Red Cross blood drive will take place in a new location on Oct. 19. The bus will now be parked in the Cancer Hospital Valet lot.
A scheduled normal power outage is to occur in the Bedtower from 4 - 6 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 13. This is the third in a series of several planned electrical outages over the next three months. We will provide notification before each outage and also communicate directly with the inpatient units that may be affected.
