National Fire Prevention Week

Oct. 9 - 15 is National Fire Prevention Week. Fires, whether caused by people or nature, can have devastating effects. Hundreds of thousands of fires happen in and around American homes every year, killing or injuring thousands of people and causing untold damage to families and communities.

Please take this opportunity to review fire prevention steps you can take at home by visiting the U.S. Fire Administration’s Fire Prevention Week Website and the UNC Health Care Wildfire Preparedness Guide for Homeowners.

Please contact the UNC Health Care Emergency Preparedness Program (disaster@unch.unc.edu) with any additional questions on this or any other Emergency Preparedness topic.
