At UNC Hospitals, we understand the unique needs of mothers and babies. That is why we offer several private places - specifically for our nursing mothers - to comfortably pump and/or breastfeed while at UNC Hospitals.
An update on our FY12 goals
Our FY12 results are updated through the end of the 2nd quarter (Dec. 31, 2011). At this point we are surpassing our goals in 6 of the 10 areas for which we have data.

Children's Butterfly Garden closed through Feb. 19

February is Heart Month. Heart-health assessment can be as easy as taking the HeartAware Risk Screening offered by the Heart and Vascular Centers at UNC and Rex. Unlike some diseases, cardiovascular disease can largely be predicted and prevented.

Feb. 22 Central Inpatient Pharmacy Move Notice
At 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 22, the Central Inpatient Pharmacy will return to its original location in the Memorial Hospital. The move will occur overnight and be completed by the morning of Thursday, Feb. 23.

Chatham Hospital has named Robert A. (Bob) Enders as its new President, effective in late March.

We have been asked to distribute this Code of Conduct to everyone working on these programs as part of a CMS audit of United Healthcare that is under way.

Winter weather possible Feb. 19, 20
Central North Carolina is under a Winter Weather Advisory Feb. 19, with forecasts predicting 1 – 3 inches of snow in the Triangle before 9 a.m. Monday, Feb. 20. All clinics and departments will remain open for our patients. As conditions or the forecast change, additional information will be distributed and appropriate action plans will be activated. The Command Center will not be activated at this time.
