APCF/Bedtower scheduled partial electrical outage

A scheduled normal power outage is to occur in APCF/Bedtower on Thursday, Jan. 19, at approximately 10 p.m. and last until 6 a.m. the following morning.

This is one in a series of several planned electrical outages over the next few months and is necessary for the electrical system upgrades currently underway in APCF/Bedtower. We will provide notification before each outage and also communicate directly with the inpatient units that may be affected

During this outage, only emergency power will be available in the affected areas. This means that power to the normal power outlets (ivory-color electrical outlets) will not be available. Emergency power will be provided to red color electrical outlets. This outage will not affect emergency power service to these buildings; however, brief “blips” may occur. Any critical equipment should be connected to red outlets prior to the outage. If there are specific concerns about whether your equipment is on emergency power, please contact the Plant Engineering Electrical Shop at 966-4484 prior to the outage.

The areas affected by the outage will include several areas of APCF and Bedtower of the Memorial Hospital (subbasement through 9th floor of APCF/Bedtower). This will be a normal power outage only; those areas on Emergency power will not experience the outage (red outlets). Non-emergency lighting, electrical outlets, and some heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems will be affected during the outage.

Please contact the Plant Engineering administrative offices at 966-5211 or Plant Engineering Maintenance at 966-4484 if you have any questions or concerns.
