Sexual Assault Victims Need Your Help Again!

The Beacon Program, the Emergency Department Sexual Assault Nurse Examiners, and the Women’s Health Information Center are partnering again to ask your help for our sexual assault victims!

The clothing of sexual assault victims is collected for evidence, and we need to provide them with fresh clothing to wear home or to a shelter. UNC Health Care employees were so generous last year in donating new clothing to adult victims of sexual  assault.  You may remember that our usual source of clothing for adults cannot provide these items due to a decrease in their non-profit funding.

These most vulnerable Emergency Department patients are seen due to the trauma of a sexual assault. We really need your help again!

During the month of November we will be collecting NEW ADULT clothing in the Women’s Health Information Center on the ground floor of the Women’s Hospital.

Many thanks to all of you who donate. Your donation is tax deductible. Receipts will be available in the Women’s Health Information Center. For more information contact the Beacon Program at 966-9314.

These are the needed items:

  • NEW ADULT small, medium and large sweat pants
  • NEW ADULT small, medium and large sweat shirts.
  • NEW ADULT small, medium and large long sleeve shirts
