Ash Wednesday begins the Christian Church Season of Lent. The Lenten Season is a preparation for celebrating Easter. Pastoral Care is also able to visit employees, patients and visitors around the hospital who are unable to attend the service.

The use of ashes as a sign of mortality and repentance has a long history in Jewish and Christian worship.
If you are unable to join us for this celebration in the chapel, call the Pastoral Care Dept., 919-966-4021 and a chaplain will bring ashes to patients, family/friends and staff located around the hospitals.
