Public meetings on Durham-Orange Light Rail Transit Project

The proposed Durham-Orange Light Rail Transit Project is moving forward. The project will impact UNC Hospitals and the Chapel Hill and Durham communities. Please attend public information meetings later this month to learn more about the progress on the proposed Light Rail Transit Service.

Doors will open at 4:30 p.m. and presentations will be given at 5 p.m. and again at 6 p.m. at the three locations listed below:

  • Nov. 12, 4:30 – 7 p.m., Durham Armory, 220 Foster Street, Durham
  • Nov. 13, 4:30 – 7 p.m., Eno Unified Unitarian Fellowship, 4907 Garrett Road, Durham
  • Nov. 14, 4:30 – 7 p.m., The William and Ida Friday Center, 100 Friday Center Drive, Chapel Hill

The proposed project will provide high frequency Light Rail Transit service along a 17-mile corridor connecting UNC and UNC Hospitals; the Friday Center; the Patterson Place, MLK Jr. Boulevard and South Square areas; Duke University; Duke and Durham VA Medical Centers; downtown and east Durham; NCCU; Durham Technical Community College, and other activity centers and residential areas.
