Epic@UNC Training Course Catalog now available

The Epic@UNC Training course catalog, which provides an overview of the training required for each role and a description of each class, is now available.

View the Course Catalog here as an Intranet PDF. Review the table of contents of this file to find the section that lists the training you will need to gain access to Epic@UNC.

Note that the role-based training plans in the Course Catalog may not exactly match your job title or working title. If you do not see a role that fits your job, read the course descriptions in the application-specific section of the catalog to help you identify the correct Training Plan for your area of responsibility. If you still need assistance, send an email to .

The full details of our Epic@UNC Training program also are available on the Epic@UNC website.

Epic@UNC Training background

The Epic@UNC Training program is based on the following Guiding Principles established at the outset of this project:

  • We will require Epic@UNC training and a proficiency test for all users.
  • End users will not receive log-on credentials until a proficiency test is passed. This is a “no pass, no access” policy.
  • Proficiency is a condition of medical staff privileges.

Epic@UNC Training is an up-front investment that will pay off by providing the information, tools and tips necessary to work efficiently and effectively in Epic@UNC. Our training team developed this plan after consultation with Epic, peer institutions, colleagues who have worked in Epic previously.

For Go-Lives #1 and #2, we will train more than 12,000 colleagues that work at more than 250 locations across North Carolina to use Epic@UNC. Our goal is to identify more than 1,750 Super Users to provide support on the units/departments immediately following each Go-Live.

Epic@UNC classes will be taught at “Learning Street,” the Epic@UNC training campus, at 1001 Airport Blvd, Morrisville, NC 27560 (Morrisville Outlet Mall).
