This Hands-Only CPR event is a public outreach initiative designed to increase the awareness of Sudden Cardiac Arrest and to provide education on high-quality CPR techniques without the use of ventilations.
The Advanced Life Support Program staff has developed a single walk-through station with multiple objectives that can be completed by participants in only 15 minutes or less. Citizens and non-clinical UNC employees are provided valuable information about Hands-Only CPR techniques and are given the opportunity to practice these techniques on a realistic live-feedback mannequin. Finally, an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) demonstration will be provided to participants as they complete the event. The 1st Annual event successfully educated close to 75 citizens and non-clinical UNC employees, and with your help, we can exceed that number this year.
Disclaimer: This event is informational only and does not provide participants with a certification. If you are a UNC Health Care employee or affiliate and are in need of a certification course, please search the Learning Management System or visit our website for upcoming courses.
