Learn more about the changes to Micromedex for UNC Health Care employees in Chapel Hill and new Micromedex availability for Rex, Chatham, and UNC Physicians Network.

UNC Health Care employees in Chapel Hill
UNC Health Care’s subscription to Micromedex, a drug information database available on mobile devices, changed at the end of September. DrugDex, PoisinDex and Reprorisk are still available to library users and UNC Health Care employees in Chapel Hill. 

The "Micromedex Alternatives: Micromedex Subscription Changes and Coverage" guide lists alternative sources available through the Health Sciences Library such as Facts & Comparisons, UpToDate and Natural Standard. How you access Micromedex has not changed. Rex, Chatham and UNC Physicians Network
Three drug information databases will be available to Rex Healthcare, Chatham Hospital and UNC Physicians Network employees starting at the end of September. 

DrugDex, PoisinDex and Reprorisk are now available through the Micromedex database and mobile app:

  • DRUGDEX® System – Peer-reviewed, evidence-based drug information including investigational and nonprescription drugs
  • POISINDEX® System – Ingredient information for commercial, pharmaceutical, and biological substances with treatment protocols
  • REPRORISK® System – In-depth reproductive risk information on drugs, chemicals, and environmental agents
  • Drug Essentials Mobile App – Package inserts, off-label indications, dosing recommendations, therapeutic class, administration, monitoring, toxicology, clinical teaching, and more.
