Chapel Hill Transit will provide Tar Heel Express shuttle service on Saturday, Sept. 6, for the UNC football game against San Diego State, scheduled for 8 p.m. at Kenan Stadium. Shuttles will begin at 5 p.m. from the Friday Center and 6:30 p.m. from the Southern Village and Jones Ferry Road park-and-rides. Flu vaccine available for employees beginning Sept. 8

Occupational Health Services (OHS) will provide influenza vaccine to health-care personnel from Sept. 8 through Dec. 5, at which time UNC Medical Center personnel will be expected to be flu compliant by receiving vaccine from OHS, providing documentation of vaccine from a source other than OHS, or submitting data documenting a medical contraindication or religious exemption form. Inactivated flu vaccine (shots) are available on Sept. 8; live attenuated (nasal spray) and intradermal (shot) flu vaccines will be available through OHS by end of September.

During the influenza season, we screen all patients age 6 months and older to determine eligibility to receive the influenza vaccine. The instructions in this Tip Sheet help inpatient nurses identify the steps to assess and order the appropriate vaccine. The influenza screening for the 2014/15 season begins on Friday, Sept. 12, 2014.
