During this time, employees on inpatient units will not receive any labels printed to the laboratory label printers. Please submit laboratory specimens during this time with an Epic@UNC label and Epic@UNC requisition.
The Environmental Services Department will be hosting a food drive during the month of April to help support the Food Bank of Central & Eastern North Carolina. This food bank serves 34 counties in North Carolina, where 651,190 individuals live in food-insecure households; 212,510 of those individuals are children. So please show your support. When nursing assistant Rebecca Langham enrolled in UNC Health Care System’s Tobacco Free Tar Heels (TFTH) program, she had been smoking a pack of cigarettes daily since she was 16 years old. Today, thanks to TFTH and her own personal dedication, she's tobacco free.

Saturday, April 18, and Saturday, April 25, have been selected as dates for lifting of HVAC ductwork for the Bone Marrow Transplant Unit renovation at the Neurosciences Hospital. As in past lifts, the crane will be placed at the Neurosciences loading dock and lifting activities will take place between 7 a.m. and 1 p.m. Vehicular access to the Women’s and Children’s and Anderson Pavilion loading docks will remain open during these times.
After the Epic@UNC 2014 Upgrade, signed notes printed from the "Notes" activity printed with a gray background, making them harder to read/fax/photocopy, in addition to using more printer toner. This issue is now fixed and signed notes no longer have a gray background.
UNC Health Care administers the CMS-approved Clinician and Group Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (CG-CAHPS) survey to solicit feedback from our patients. One question on that survey asks patients if they would recommend their provider's office to friends and family. Eighty of our providers had more than 94% of their patients respond “Yes, definitely!” to that question, which places them in the top quartile nationally.
