Health Insurance Special Pay (HISP) error adjustments in some UNC Medical Center paychecks still being resolved
HR & Payroll have been working as fast as they can to make any necessary adjustments (refunds to employees, or payments to UNC Health Care) on paychecks for UNC Medical Center employees whose HISP was impacted in the Dec. 2, 2015, paychecks.
The 'Outside Messages' InBasket folder now includes event notification messages from external providers. These messages can come from other hospitals and providers using Epic directly through Care Everywhere, or from non-Epic organizations through the North Carolina Health Information Exchange (NCHIE). NCHIE also routes messages to the 'Outside Messages' folder regarding patient immunization updates from Walgreens.
This year employee teams were invited to decorate the Christmas trees in the lobbies of UNC Hospitals. The winners were announced last week.

The “IP CAPP Meeting Pt List Report" was created to support the Carolina Value project with the goal of providing instant visibility to key information impacting care progression. The latest Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Provider Systems (HCAHPS) patient satisfaction scores are available. You can view the scores for all UNC Health Care hospitals and all Triangle-area hospitals.
Dr. Diane Howell, with the help of Santa Claus, cuts the ribbon to the renovated children’s play area at the Streets at Southpoint in Durham. UNC Health Care sponsors the play area which has been given a Carolina-blue face lift just in time for the holidays.

The Code Sepsis team is very grateful to the following 'Sepsis Stars' that strive to improve patient care through their participation in the sepsis initiative. The sepsis initiative is working to improve timely recognition of potential sepsis and implement the entire care bundle including a lactic acid, blood cultures, IV antibiotics, and IV fluids.
