A number of improvements to the referrals process in Epic@UNC went into effect June 14, 2015. Most notably, the priority status of referrals has been standardized across Epic@UNC, with STAT priority orders requiring a phone call from the “referred from” department within one day and Urgent priority orders requiring a phone call from the “referred from” department within two to three days.
LMS will be down for updates this weekend beginning at 10 p.m. Friday, June 19, through 4 a.m. Saturday, June 20. This downtime applies to UNC Hospitals, UNC School of Medicine, Rex Healthcare, Chatham Hospital, UNC Physicians Network, High Point Regional, and Pardee Hospital.

New “Reviewed/Release” button available June 17 to clarify manual release of Radiology/Pathology results to My UNC Chart (Intranet)
Radiology and Pathology final test results are auto-released to My UNC Chart 14 calendar days after Radiology/Pathology results are marked final. Providers can manually release final Radiology/Pathology results to My UNC Chart earlier than 14 calendar days within the ‘Results InBasket’ folder. To clarify the manual release of these results, on June 17 a new "Reviewed/Release" button will be available in Epic@UNC, giving providers three options.
The Epic@UNC Analytics team continues to work with our Epic and SAP vendors to resolve technical issues preventing access to the Access & Referrals dashboards/reports (Health Care System, Provider, and Department level views).
This year, high school volunteers or the children, age 14 - 18, of UNC Hospitals employees are invited to submit a project using the medium of your choice -- e.g., pottery, essay, photo, film, sculpture -- explaining what mental illness means to them. This project is sponsored by Shared Governance and the Nursing Diversity Council. Projects are due by Aug. 14.
Chapel Hill Transit will operate on a Saturday schedule on Friday, July 3. There will be no service on Saturday, July 4. EZ Rider premium service will be in effect on Sunday, July 5.

As part of the renovation of the Bone Marrow Transplant Unit, a crane will be placed at the Neurosciences Hospital loading dock on Saturday morning, June 20, from 6:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. UNC Hospitals Police will assist with traffic and pedestrian control during lifting activities. Vehicular access to the Women’s and Children’s and Anderson Pavilion loading docks will remain open.
