Effective March 18, CK-MB will be removed from all order sets used in chest pain assessment at UNC Medical Center, Rex, and Chatham Hospitals on recommendation by Cardiology, Emergency Medicine, and Laboratory Medicine. CK and CK-MB will no longer be listed as part of the default order set for chest pain assessment.

After the 2014 Epic@UNC Upgrade, a number of inpatient providers have expressed frustration with the Charge Capture popup that appears with every signed inpatient note generating a bill, and specifically with the hard stop requiring the provider to associate the charge with a diagnosis. Effective immediately, this hard stop has been removed and providers are no longer required to associate a charge with a diagnosis in the popup.
To ensure we're ready for Go-Live #3, ISD will test PCs, printers, scanners, etc., at all Go-Live #3 locations during a Technical Dress Rehearsal (TDR) that begins Monday, March 16.
Epic@UNC was successfully upgraded on Saturday, March 7, to the 2014 version of Epic's software. Since the upgrade, users have reported a number of issues that ISD is working to resolve. Please continue to report any issues to the ISD Service Desk at 984-974-4357.
