Radiology, Cardiology interface downtime from 1 – 1:30 a.m. Aug. 20 for Cupid Go-Live at UNC Medical Center, UNC REX, Chatham

On Saturday morning, Aug. 20, the Epic@UNC Cupid Cardiology module will Go-Live at UNC Medical Center, UNC REX Healthcare, and Chatham Hospital. There will not be an Epic@UNC downtime. However, the Go-Live does require a 30-minute downtime for the interfaces between Epic@UNC and Radiology and Cardiology systems.

Note the following about this interface downtime:

  • From 1 – 1:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 20, all Radiology, Cardiology, Neurology, Sleep, and EKG orders will not transmit from Epic@UNC to 3rd party systems:
  •  Orders for the specialties above may be placed in Epic@UNC between 1 – 1:30 a.m. Aug. 20, but they will not flow into the 3rd party systems until the downtime is complete. 
  • Please use your local Interface downtime procedures for Orders/Results during this time (e.g. call/page for stat orders and reporting of Stat results for these specialties)

Background on Cupid Go-Live:

  • Cupid is already used at Caldwell Memorial, High Point Regional, Johnston Health, and Pardee
  • UNC REX Healthcare providers will continue documenting in Fuji Synapse CV and Epic@UNC as they do today and go-live with new Cupid functionality
  • UNC Medical Center will go live with new Cupid functionality and a new Cardiology PACS system. Providers will: 
    • Begin using Cupid for Cardiology Adult Echo procedure documentation (in place of Apollo) 
    • Begin using the Fuji Synapse Cardiovascular Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) in place of the Agfa Heartlab and Lumedx Cardiopacs Cardiology PACS systems. The Fuji Synapse Cardiovascular PACS is already used at Caldwell, Johnston, Pardee, and UNC REX.
