Hepatology Clinic pharmacist captures attention at The Liver Meeting

Jane Giang, the Clinical Pharmacist Practitioner in the Hepatology Clinic at UNC Hospitals, captured the attention of Frontline Medical News at her recent poster presentation during The Liver Meeting, the annual national meeting of the American Association for the Study of Liver Disease.

In her present role within the UNC Hospitals Liver Center, Giang has become a specialist in Hepatitis C Pharmacy, a designation that is rare within clinical pharmacy nationally. Jane’s poster, entitled “Differential Access to Direct Acting Antivirals (DAAs) Across Federal, State, Commercial, and Manufacturer Patient Assistance Programs (MPAP),” focused on the significant concern of access to expensive Hepatitis C medications. Her findings will be relevant to Hepatitis C centers across the country. The video discussion, in addition to the print one, is available here.
