To help provide more coordinated care for our patients (and patients at other hospitals using Epic), the Care Everywhere ID (CEID) now displays on the inpatient Face Sheet. Once the Face Sheet is opened, the CEID is listed under the “Admission” section. If a patient has opted-out of Care Everywhere, a message indicating this will be displayed.

On Dec. 19, 2016, ISD will shut down the online SARF found in HEAT. After Dec. 19, all requests for system access will need to be submitted through the Access Request Center (ARC). Since the ARC rollout in February 2016 at UNC Medical Center and the UNC School of Medicine, more than 37,000 access requests and provisions have been made, with most requests being fulfilled in less than one day.

Advanced Practice Providers: Optional ‘Co-sign’ check box for outpatient encounters in notes activity
Effective Monday, Dec. 12, all Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) will see an optional check box in their notes activity for outpatient encounters (including prep for surgery). APPs should use the guidelines of their respective departments as to whether or not it is necessary for the note to be co-signed in outpatient encounters.
