Wayne Memorial Hospital has signed a Management Services Agreement with UNC Health Care effective Jan. 1, 2016. Wayne Memorial Hospital’s Board of Directors also announced that Bob Enders will serve as interim President at Wayne Memorial until a permanent President and CEO is named. Bill Paugh, President and CEO of Wayne Memorial since 2000, retired at the end of 2015, and a formal search for that position is underway.
Enders, who also is the President of Chatham Hospital in Siler City, will continue working at Chatham Hospital in a limited role. Day-to-day leadership responsibilities at Chatham will be handled by Tammy Needham, RN, MSN, Chatham’s Chief Nursing Officer, and David Paugh, Chatham’s Chief Financial Officer.

Prior to serving as Chatham Hospital President, Bob previously served as Administrator of Pioneer Health Services of Patrick County in Stuart, Va., from 2009 – 2011. He also served as President/CEO of Morehead Memorial Hospital in Eden, NC, from 1987-2008. Bob is a graduate of the University of Virginia and has a Master’s in Healthcare Administration from the Medical College of Virginia.
