Carolina Value Night of Community Service

Members of the Carolina Value team from UNC Hospitals and our partner, Huron Consulting Group, recently lent a hand and volunteered their evening at the NC Food Bank in Raleigh.

While the volunteer opportunities vary each night, the group was tasked with potato duty as they worked to package 10 one-ton pallets of potatoes that were distributed to 34 counties across central and eastern North Carolina. By the end of the night, the team helped bag 8,000 pounds of potatoes, which is the equivalent of 6,737 meals!

The Food Bank’s mission can only survive through the continued support of volunteers – to learn how your group can donate an evening for a great cause, check out the opportunities at http://www.foodbankcenc.org/.
